A conversation is your first step

There's no such thing as a bad question, so whatever you need give me a ring.

My logo design process

Consultation period

We'll have an initial call

Before starting any project, or even agreeing to work together, I need to understand what it is that you want to achieve. This is so that we can get to know each other a little and identify the goals, complexities and processes involved.

I'll send you a quote

After the call, I'll send you a quote containing the brief, the details and the timeframe. Once you give me the green light with 50% up front we'll get started!

Design time

Step 1: brand nouns

You'll receive from me a questionnaire asking some further questions about your brand, competitors, what logos you've seen that you already like and goals.   This gives us a point of reference for the project, to help keep us on the right path.

In this time, we will identify key brand nouns that decribe your brand and where you want it to be which will form the bedrock of the ideas.

Step 2: sketches & ideas

I like to start working on paper. It's quick and easy to identify which ideas are worth pursuing and which to discard - importantly it's an efficient way of making changes. Once I have 50-100 sketched ideas, I'll move on to the next step.

Step 3: vector brand marks

I will turn my best ideas into vectorised brand marks, in black and white so that we aren't influenced by the colours.  A brand mark needs to be simple, memorable and work in a single colour to be really effective. I will present 9 of these to you so that we can pick 3 to build on.

Step 4: 3 brand systems

This is where the brands start to sparkle with colour and fonts!  We will review 3 brand systems that I have put together and choose the one that aligns best with your company to continue working on.  These systems include: brand marks, logo marks (in square and rectangular formats), badges and a mock up.

Step 5: design system iteration

Once we know which way to go, I'll use your feedback to continue working on this system.

Step 6: final delivery

Once you've signed off the designs we'll get organised and get your final files to you, along with any quotes that might be needed for your project to be fully completed. I get so much satisfaction from seeing ideas brought to life.

Ways we can work together

I tailor how I work according to the needs of the client I am working with, depending on whether they need ongoing support fora fully managed digital service or are looking for an output that is a one-off.

Increasing on-website bookings with a new WordPress website for Iken Barns

Iken Barns is a business which provides self-catering holiday cottages on the Suffolk Coast. Chris was professional and super helpful as was not entirely sure what I wanted. He was a good timekeeper and always showed up when organized to meet.
He took his time to listen to my ideas and what I needed and designed my site keeping it simple so I could change myself when I needed to.
Very pleased with the result, I won't hesitate to go back to J4G Design for help.

Chris gave my website an overhaul, sorted out my SEO and numerous broken links and redirects etc. An excellent personalised service at a good price. He was happy to spend the time talking me through exactly what he was doing and breaking it down into simple language for me. Much appreciated and highly recommended 👌🏻

MAUREEN, Hammersmith

Maureen Gomez Interiors
I asked Chris if he could support me (an IT novice!) with a transfer of the details of my personal website onto a new platform. From the off, Chris was professional, helpful, timely and supportive.
He took time to explain the process and then transferred and redesigned the site whilst keeping me updated. He also made some suggestions on how I could make some adjustments to the site to make it easier to navigate.
Really pleased with the result, I won't hesitate to use J4G design again. Thanks Chris
