Dawmouse Montessori is a much-loved nursery in Fulham, and when they came to me they had an open day on the horizon and very little time to turn local interest into booked places. The brief was unusually tight: they needed a website that actually reflected the warmth of the setting and a way to put it in front of nearby parents quickly, and the whole thing had to be working within a day rather than the few weeks a rebuild would normally take.
I rebuilt the site from the ground up in WordPress, structured around the things a parent wants to know before they come along — the ethos of the nursery, the team who would be looking after their child, the term dates, and a clear, unhurried way to register interest in the open day. Rather than leave that content static, I wired the term dates and the staff profiles so they can be kept current without touching the design, which means the site stays useful long after the open day itself.
Alongside the build I set up a Google Ads search campaign aimed at parents looking for a nursery in the immediate area, so that the moment the new site went live it had visibility rather than sitting and waiting to be found. Both pieces — the website and the advertising — were live inside twenty-four hours, which gave Dawmouse a genuine window to fill the open day rather than hoping word of mouth would get there in time.
What I like about this project is that it shows how quickly a small, well-run business can be given a proper digital presence when the work is focused: a site built around the real questions parents ask, and advertising pointed at the people most likely to walk through the door.
